I am in a marriage, the father of three children with whom we grow up and evolve together. I come from the island of Ithaca and since 2016 I live and work in Glyfada (area of South Athens). I work in private practice by providing Psychotherapy and Counseling to adolescents and adults, Supervision and Training to Mental Health professionals and Coaching to executives of corporate / family businesses who are in a transition phase.
My approach, professional attitudes and ethics in a working environment):
My embraced philosophy and the way I perceive the therapeutic / counseling relationship, supervision, training and Coaching is synthetic. It is based on the principles of the Systemic Appreciative Inquire Approach and is enriched by the Attachment Theory and the distillates (or fundamentals) of Narrative Psychology, taking into account at the same time the recent developments in the field of psychotherapy, neuroscience as well as the broader approaches to organizational systems in general. SOS Children’s Villages Greece is a charitable, non-profit organization, established in 1975, and it is a member of SOS Children’s Villages International, which is active in 134 countries and territories around the world with the aim to support families and help children at risk grow up in loving home.
For over 40 years SOS Children’s Villages provide services for abandoned, destitute, “socially” orphaned children in need and their families. Moreover SOS Children’s Villages Greece support families in crisis through the Family Strengthening Programs.

State Employee at Ithaca Health Centre. The centre regulated entity formerly the General Hospital of Cephalonia and from 2015 regulated at 6th Sanitary Region Peloponnese, Ionian Islands, Epirus and Western Greece and under the auspices of Greek Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ithaca, Greece.
The Health Center is the only unit on Ithaca which provides health services (primary, secondary and tertiary) to the local community (3250 people) and the visitors of Ithaca island. The multidisciplinary team of the Health Center consists of doctors, scientists from the field of mental health, other health specialists, as well as administrative staff members.

Social Worker & Drug Addiction Counsellor KETHEA, (KETHEA-Strofi & KETHEA-Plefsi), Athens, Greece.
KETHEA is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) which operates under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Health and Welfare.
It is the first and the biggest organization founded in Greece dealing with drug addiction. Its basic objective is the treatment, vocational guidance and social integration of addicted individuals, the support of families faced with problems related to drug addiction and the development of activities linked with prevention, training of professionals and research. KETHEA is the “umbrella” organization of twenty agencies each of them servicing different parts of the population in various places in Greece. KETHEA adheres to the Code of Ethics of the World Federation of Therapeutic Communities, and has also developed its own more detailed Code of Ethics.
International affiliations: KETHEA has had consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with regard to drug-related issues since 2001. KETHEA is also associated with the UN Department of Public Information (DPI) as a specialised organisation regarding drug-related information and actively participates in international organizations and fora dealing with the treatment of addictions.

Director SOS Children’s Village Vari & Youth House Athens
- The Director is the ultimate in charge for the smooth operation of the SOS Children’s Village and the Youth House. His duties include the knowledge of circulars based on which he is called to follow certain procedures such as: education, research, administration, management, public relations, prevention, information.
- He has the administrative responsibility including education, counseling and supervision of all staff of SOS Children’s Village in Vari and Youth House in Athens.

The main activities of E. Lorandos concern the fields of prevention, counselling and therapy (Individuals, couples, families and groups). Also he works with the local community (research, needs assessment, teaching, prevention and intervention programs etc.). The therapeutic intervention take place through individual, group and family counselling and therapy. Additional kinds of intervention that have to do with educational, athletic, artistic and cultural activities also take place.
The therapeutic approach concerns the family as a whole and is based on principles of the Therapeutic Communities (model of social learning), as adjusted for the adolescents in Greece.
The therapeutic approach is also based on the theoretical and practical principles of the systemic approach.
